Acts Pt. 43 – Example of Faithful Service Pt. 1
1. Read 2 Tim. 2 14-26. Our culture has developed a fascination with “Self” - How do you see this "Self" culture making it difficult for Christians to maintain a servant’s heart, and what can we do to combat this?
2. Paul labored with his own hands to show that "it is more blessed to give than to receive." How does our view of our "talents and treasure" change when we see them as tools for service rather than personal gain?
3. Paul shared the “whole counsel” of God - What are some ways we might be tempted to hold back from sharing “all” of the message and why?
4. Mat. 12:33-35 speaks about the “root and fruit” of our heart and actions. How can we ensure our conversations with non-believers focus on the gospel (the root) rather than just being "good" (the fruit)?
Personal reflection questions:
1. Do you view your relationship with God primarily as one with a "benevolent father" or as one with your "LORD" whom you are called to serve as a slave to Christ? What, if anything, needs to change here?
2. What are the specific ways God is calling you right now to sacrificially give of your "time, talents, or treasure" to serve His people?
