Acts Pt. 42 – Empowered Encouragement

1. How does Paul’s emphasis on encouragment as he travels through these regions and churches challenge us and our attitude towards encouragement in OUR lives on a daily basis? (i.e. he gave years of his life to this… what/how am I doing?)

2. Homework: Look up the “one another” passages in Scripture and prepare some observations to share/discuss at life group

3. In Romans 1:12 Paul talked about being “mutually” encouraged. Share a time when you were encouraged to grow in YOUR faith by seeing someone ELSE’s faith or spiritual growth

4. Why do we need encouragement? What “truth tools” (truths from Scripture) can we use to help encourage others? Is it enough to just give truth? Or to just do acts of kindness? Why might both be helpful?

Personal reflection questions:

5. HOW: Of the different “means” of encouraging others (giving, serving, spending time, correspondence, etc.) which do you find easiest and how can you use that more to be an encouragement to the people around you?

6. WHO: Think of one or two people specifically that God has put in your life that could use YOUR encouragement right now. What will you do to be an encouragement to them?
