Thanksgiving Pt. 2 – A Fruit of Giving Thanks
1. Are there things you find yourself trying your peace and joy and value to outside of Christ? (Job/family/possessions/relationship/security/government/health/etc.) How does that “earthly anchor” hinder you from being thankful?
2. We see that Paul could thank God even while in prison because he looked past his circumstances to see God's grace. Think of a recent difficulty or trial you faced. In hindsight, can you identify a "work of God" within that situation that you can be thankful for today?
3. We talked about watching for God's work in others as a way to keep our “thanksgiving” towards God’s work. Who is one person in your life that you have seen grow spiritually recently, and have you taken the time to thank God (and perhaps tell that person) for that specific growth?
4. Make a prayer list for your famiiy and friends that doesn’t have any physical needs on it. How can you pray for them this week just focusing on Spiritual work?
