1. Read Heb. 7:26-27 – how does this relate to our passage in Leviticus (particularly 8:14ff)? What are the implications for us, and how does this truth impact our assurance as believers?

2. Why does it matter that pastors are not priests? How does this impact how I live out my christian life? And how does this impact the way I come to church and the leadership culture of a local church?

3. Leviticus required the priesthood's dedication to be public before the whole assembly (Lev 8:3–4). How does this public consecration relate to the New Testament responsibility of OUR local church to recognize, affirm, and hold accountable qualified elders according to 1 Timothy 3?

4. Why are the character qualities given in I Tim. 3 not ONLY for pastors? Why is this important and how do we pursue this as a community?
